August 21, 2010 at Hagg Lake near Gaston, OR, we at Run for Fun are holding trail races with a 25k starting at 9:00AM and 50k starting at 8:00AM.
A trail race at Hagg Lake in the summer??? Say it isn't true!? :-)
We're hoping for no mud and a lot of

We'll have no hot soup but will have cold
in a beer garden run by:
Mylar blankets? Who needs em? You might want

There is a chance, just maybe, that you could get a post-race lake-side massage...
The course
The course is a trip around the lake on trails, road where necessary, after a short out-and-back section on a gravel road. There are no long climbs, but there is a lot of up and down which makes it a challenging course.
50k runners go around the lake twice after a slightly longer out-and-back than the 25k runners do. 25k runners go around once.
Both races start and finish at Boatramp C on the NW side of Hagg Lake.
There will be an aid station at the start / finish line, and one after approximately 5 miles and another after approximately 10 miles. You can leave your own supplies, drop bag, cooler, chair, etc. at an area near the start finish line also. The aid stations will have a mix of water, ice, bananas, peanutbutter and honey sandwiches, potato chips, cookies, and maybe some other things.

Prizes
Age group and overall winners will receive prizes.
We had thought about adding a prize pool comparing your finishing time with your finishing time from a certain other event, but... who needs competition and pressure when there is a cookout and fun by the lake waiting for you at the finish line???
Cool tech-shirt for runners and finish-line fun including a cookout and beer garden.

The idea for Hagg Dust!!!
Run for Fun is holding this event inspired by a re-run of McNaughton held in the Spring in Pekin, IL, which is on a a very, very muddy and wet course. A friend of mine put on a dry version in the summer called McNotagain!!! It was a blast! We hope to make that same type of fun event possible with Hagg Dust.
While this event is run on a similar course to the one an entity other than Run for Fun, LLC uses in February, this event is in no way affiliated or sponsored by that entity.
